Football Recap: Alief Hastings Bears vs. Bellaire Cardinals
Alief Hastings came into Thursday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They claimed a resounding 44-7 victory over the Bellaire Cardinals at home. The Bears' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Alief Hastings had a senior duo take command as Sincere Nealy rushed for 191 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries and Jadien Douglas rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Nealy's longest rush was for an incredible 90 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Madden Harvey, who rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Alief Hastings was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 364 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're rushing yard total in three consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Bellaire had strong showings from Will Hazen, who threw for 144 yards and a touchdown, and Anthony Miller, who picked up 48 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Alief Hastings' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Bellaire, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Alief Hastings will venture away from home to take on Alief Elsik at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alief Hastings will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Bellaire, they will square off against Houston Math Science & Tech at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
