Volleyball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against the Tokay Tigers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-1 loss back in March.

Franklin may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 19 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-19.

Despite the defeat, Franklin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jonathan Lemus had 20 digs and one block. Lemus has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last eight times he's played.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 7-21. As for Tokay, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-15.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Franklin is set to square off against their familiar foe Edison at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Tokay will challenge rival Weston Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
