 Sadly, Elliot Christian is still looking for their first win of the season after eight  games. They suffered a  tough 31-1 defeat at the hands of the Big Valley Christian Lions  on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Elliot Christian of the  40-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  last Tuesday.
 For Big Valley Christian's part,  Tegan Case and  Westin Mattingly made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound,  Case   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Meanwhile,  Mattingly   tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. At the plate,  Case  scored four  runs while going 4-for-5, while  Mattingly  scored two  runs while going 3-for-5.
 In other batting news,  Jackson Howell was  incredible,  firing off four  runs, four  doubles,  and two  triples while going 6-for-7. He is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last five games he's  played.  Brady Heinrich was another key contributor,  scoring four  runs while  getting on base  in six of his seven plate appearances.
 Elliot Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Big Valley Christian, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-9.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elliot Christian will  challenge Millennium at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Millennium is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.8  runs per game  this season. As for Big Valley Christian, they will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Turlock Christian at 7:00  p.m.
