There's no place like home for DeMotte Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles on Thursday as they made off with a 13-5 victory. The Knights not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9, 2024.
Allie Koves and Cheznie Kooy were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Koves struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kooy tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Koves scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Kooy scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.
In other batting news, Abby McCarty and Allie Myers did most of the damage at the plate: McCarty went 3-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles, while Myers went 2-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jorie Rottier, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.
