Football Game Preview: Hoover Vikings vs. Jackson Polar Bears

The Hoover Vikings will square off against the Jackson Polar Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoover's defense has only allowed 14.9 points per game this season, so Jackson's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Hoover is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Lake on Friday. The Vikings took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Streaks. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Jackson and McKinley meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Polar Bears were dealt a 40-9 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Polar Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 20th).

Hoover's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
