Softball Recap: Carroll County Has No Trouble Against Walton-Verona

Carroll County barely beat Walton-Verona the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 15-2 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Panthers have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Carroll County's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Walton-Verona, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

Carroll County will venture away from home to challenge Shelby County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rockets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.9 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Walton-Verona, they will welcome Gallatin County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
