Basketball Recap: Rawlins County Buffaloes vs. Decatur Community Red Devils
Rawlins County waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-52 W against the Decatur Community Red Devils. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-45 back in December of 2024.

Rawlins County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tayten Dewey out in front who went 6-for-8 on her way to 17 points. The dominant performance also gave Dewey a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (75%). Camden Franklin was another key player, putting up 14 points and three steals.
Rawlins County was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They racked up six more assists than Decatur Community's also-impressive total of 11.
Decatur Community's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jenna Fortin, who posted 16 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brylee Minnick, who put up 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals.
Rawlins County's record is now 17-4. As for Decatur Community, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.
