Football Game Preview: Marshall County Marshals vs. Calloway County Lakers + Official Tickets

The Marshall County Marshals are taking a road trip to challenge the Calloway County Lakers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marshall County's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three games, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-6, which was the final score in Marshall County's tilt against Apollo on Friday. The matchup marked the Marshals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Calloway County entered their game against Paducah Tilghman on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lakers took a blow against the Blue Tornado, falling 49-14. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Blue Tornado are ranked 12th).

Calloway County's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Marshall County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Everything came up roses for Marshall County against Calloway County in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 45-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marshals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
