Baseball Recap: St. John's Comes Up Short

If St. John was feeling good fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Cooper last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mavericks fell just short of HCYA by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Mavericks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced HCYA earlier this season, when they won 7-5.

St. John's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11. As for HCYA, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-14-1 record this season.

St. John's didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-5 victory against Kinkaid on the 22nd. As for HCYA, they will head out to take on Houston Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
