Volleyball Recap: South El Monte Falls Despite Big Games from Alex Lopez and Lexis Jacobo

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Wednesday. South El Monte lost 3-0 to Marshall. South El Monte hasn't had much luck with Marshall recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-21, 25-16.

South El Monte's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lexis Jacobo, who had 24 digs, and Alex Lopez, who had 12 digs. That's the most digs Lopez has posted over his last six games.

South El Monte's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Marshall, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Coming up, South El Monte is taking a road trip to face off against Mountain View at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marshall, they will square off against Rosemead at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Rosemead will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Marshall surely won't give up without a fight.
