Preview: HEM Miners vs. Ten Sleep Pioneers
HEM is 1-0 against Ten Sleep since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The HEM Miners will head out on the road to face off against the Ten Sleep Pioneers at 2:00 p.m. HEM is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, HEM faced Dubois in a battle between two of the state's top teams. HEM had to suffer through a rough 62-6 loss at the hands of Dubois. HEM was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-0.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Ten Sleep, who are still winless after their fifth match. They and Burlington were almost perfectly matched up on Thursday, but Ten Sleep suffered an agonizing 2-0 defeat. While losing is never fun, Ten Sleep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Burlington is ranked third).
The losses dropped HEM to 1-6 and Ten Sleep to 0-5.
Everything came up roses for HEM against Ten Sleep in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 67-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for HEM since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
