Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Calvary Christian walked away with it. They walked away with a 23-13 win over The King's Academy on Friday.
Calvary Christian had a senior duo take command as De'andre Heard rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry and Luke Zevac rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Skipstone Academy beat Cherokee Christian 35-26 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Skipstone Academy.
Ethan Miller was his usual excellent self, rushing for 202 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 87 yards and a touchdown. Miller really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.
Their wins bumped Calvary Christian to 7-4 and Skipstone Academy to 7-3.
Calvary Christian beat Skipstone Academy 21-10 in their previous meeting on November 3rd. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Skipstone Academy's Matthew Rambeau, who rushed for 166 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Calvary Christian still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
