Softball Recap: South Takes a Loss

South suffered their biggest defeat since March 29th on Monday. They lost 13-3 to the Riverside Beavers. The Rebels have struggled against the Beavers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Summer Bliss (Lake Erie College) was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Addy Matriano was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

South's loss dropped their record down to 6-8-1. As for Riverside, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South will welcome Ellet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Orangemen will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight. As for Riverside, they will be playing at home against Boardman at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Beavers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
