Basketball Game Preview: King's Academy Knights vs. Carmel Padres

The King's Academy Knights will challenge the Carmel Padres at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. King's Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 matches -- so hopefully Carmel likes a good challenge.

King's Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They strolled past Sacred Heart Prep with points to spare, taking the game 64-50. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Carmel entered their tilt with Half Moon Bay on Thursday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. They were the clear victor by a 71-47 margin over the Cougars.

Carmel pushed their record up to 19-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points over those games. As for King's Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 22-4.

Things could have been worse for King's Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-44 loss to Carmel in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can King's Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
