Softball Game Preview: Albuquerque Bulldogs vs. Cibola Cougars

Albuquerque hasn't had much luck against Cibola recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Cougars at 2:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Albuquerque is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Atrisco Heritage Academy, who was ranked 17th at the time (Albuquerque was ranked 23rd). The Bulldogs fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Cibola unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 6-3 to Volcano Vista.

Cibola saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nevaeh Gaw, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Albuquerque's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Cibola, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 21-5.

Albuquerque came up short against Cibola when the teams last played back in March, falling 5-2. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
