Baseball Recap: Willamina Comes Up Short

Willamina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Colton Vikings, falling 23-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 34-1 on Monday.

Willamina saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Meckel, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Willamina's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Colton, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-9.

Colton has already played their next matchup (against Sheridan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Willamina will be paying especially close attention to the Vikings' game: after the Vikings face off against the Spartans, they'll take on Willamina again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
