Softball Recap: Ferndale Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Ferndale finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They came up short against the Lynden Christian Lyncs, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their meetings with the Lyncs: they've now lost five in a row.

Ferndale saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amaya Chervenock, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Chervenock has hit this season.

Ferndale's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Lynden Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Ferndale and Lynden Christian will both be playing Lynden the next time they take the field. The Golden Eagles will host the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Lyncs will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
