Softball Recap: Fairfield Falcons vs. Central Noble Cougars

Central Noble typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Fairfield proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Central Noble Cougars by a score of 8-4. This was a revenge matchup for Fairfield, as the team was forced to settle for a 6-3 defeat when these two played last Friday.

Kinslyn Pressler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Jayslynn Hall was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and a stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Jones, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Even though they lost, Central Noble didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with 13 strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairfield only tossed three.

Fairfield's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-10. As for Central Noble, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6.

As for Central Noble, they will head out on the road to take on West Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Noble will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Central Noble surely won't give up without a fight.
