Preview: Jasper Wildcats vs. Northeast Dubois Jeeps

Jasper is 10-0 against Northeast Dubois since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Jasper Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northeast Dubois Jeeps at 7:30 p.m.

Last Saturday, Jasper ended up a good deal behind Evansville Harrison and lost 62-47. While losing is never fun, Jasper can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Evansville Harrison is ranked 17th).

Meanwhile, even though Springs Valley scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, Northeast Dubois still came out on top. Northeast Dubois took their matchup against Springs Valley 70-59. The win was just what Northeast Dubois needed coming off of a 66-41 loss in their prior game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northeast Dubois to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adam Dooley, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Goller, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds.

Jasper has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Northeast Dubois, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Jasper beat Northeast Dubois 46-34 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Does Jasper have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northeast Dubois turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
