Softball Recap: Hector Beats Danville for Their Fifth Straight Win

Hector waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Danville Little Johns as they made off with a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 14 games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Addison Campbell was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Reece Vincent was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Hector always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Danville only posted an OBP of .000.

Hector pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Danville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11-1.

Looking ahead, Hector will welcome Hackett at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.1, the Hornets 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Danville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
