Volleyball Recap: Smithtown East Beats Bellport for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Smithtown East waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bellport Clippers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

Smithtown East had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-22, 25-9, 25-17.

Smithtown East found their leader in freshman Rosemarie Remsen, who had seven digs and two aces.

Smithtown East was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.

Smithtown East's record now sits at 23-4-5. As for Bellport, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Smithtown East will venture away from home to face off against East Islip at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Bellport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
