Soccer Recap: Urbana University Comes Up Short

If Urbana University was riding high fresh off their 6-1 takedown of Cornerstone Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Illineks came up short against the Monticello Sages on Monday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Urbana University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Monticello are ranked 120th).

Urbana University has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's still a better percentage than their 4-15-1 record this season. As for Monticello, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Urbana University will square off against Warrensburg-Latham at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monticello, they will head out to square off against Bloomington Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
