Basketball Game Preview: Hanford Falcons vs. Walla Walla Blue Devils

Hanford hasn't had much luck against Walla Walla recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Hanford Falcons will host the Walla Walla Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hanford is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Lewiston on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hanford lost 71-45 to Lewiston. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 294th in Washington, while the Bengals are ranked seventh in Idaho).

Meanwhile, Walla Walla came up short against Chiawana on Friday and fell 82-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (65), the Blue Devils still had to take the loss.

Walla Walla has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Hanford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-12.

Things could have been worse for Hanford, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-52 loss to Walla Walla in their previous meeting back in December of 2024.
