The Jacobs Golden Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Dundee-Crown Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jacobs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Jacobs and Prairie Ridge meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles fell 54-45 to the Wolves. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Golden Eagles came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Wolves are ranked 355th).

Elijah Bell put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 16 points and five assists. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Malachi Bell, who earned 12 points.

Meanwhile, Dundee-Crown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 47-29 bruising from Cary-Grove.

Dundee-Crown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Jacobs, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Jacobs couldn't quite get it done against Dundee-Crown in their previous meeting back in February as they fell 43-35. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
