Trumbull lost to Staples back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Trumbull Eagles came out on top against the Staples Wreckers by a score of 57-50. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Staples' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marley Belzer, who posted 13 points. The dominant performance gave Belzer a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Freya Harvey, who went 5 of 7 to rack up 11 points and five boards.

Trumbull's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Staples, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Coming up, Trumbull is taking a road trip to challenge Ridgefield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ridgefield will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Trumbull surely won't give up without a fight. As for Staples, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Danbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
