Recap: Oelwein vs. Waukon
Waukon put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 46-16 margin over Oelwein. That result was just more of the same for Waukon, who also won the last time these teams played.
The game started off well for Waukon, whose offense put up 24 first-half points. Oelwein wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 8 to make it 24-8 heading into the break. Waukon put the match away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense. The victory bumped their record up to 5-1. The defeat dropped Oelwein's record to 2-4.
Waukon will look to defend their home turf next week against Columbus at 7:30 PM. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Waukon skips in on five wins and Columbus on four. As for Oelwein, they will face off against North Fayette.
