Preview: South Medford Panthers vs. Benson Tech Techmen
South Medford has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Benson Tech Techmen at 1:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
South Medford's 18-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were outmatched by Smoky Hill on the road and fell 78-45. While losing is never fun, South Medford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 142nd in Oregon, while Smoky Hill is ranked 25th in Colorado).
Meanwhile, Benson Tech's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 68-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westview. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
South Medford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Benson Tech, they bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
