Football Recap: Rayvon Steward and Superior Garror Pace Morse Defense + How To Watch

If Morse was feeling good fresh off their 41-0 takedown of Orange Glen last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers came up short against the Steele Canyon Cougars on Friday, falling 35-9. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 662nd, while the Cougars are ranked 275th).

Morse didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rayvon Steward and Superior Garror.

Steele Canyon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Abel Lopez out in front who rushed for 56 yards and two touchdowns. Another signal caller making a difference was Gavin Caha, who threw for 213 yards and a pair of TDs on only 16 passes.

Morse now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Steele Canyon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Morse will host West Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Steele Canyon, they are taking a road trip to challenge Rancho Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
