Soccer Recap: Wayland Academy Falls to Columbus in First Game of Season

Wayland Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Columbus Cardinals by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. Wayland Academy were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Columbus apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayland Academy will venture away from home to take on Waupun at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Columbus, they will head out to challenge Central Wisconsin Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
