Basketball Recap: Word of God Academy Takes a Loss

Word of God Academy lost against Shreveport HomeSchool Sports back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Word of God Academy Force fell to the Shreveport HomeSchool Sports Force 52-46.

Despite the loss, Word of God Academy still got an impressive performance from Zyere Cartwright, who went 7 for 12 en route to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taj Bell, who posted ten points and seven boards.

Shreveport HomeSchool Sports' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Patrick Bennett, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Bennett has posted since back in November of 2024. Mitchel Martin was another key player, putting up ten points.

Word of God Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Shreveport HomeSchool Sports, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 25-12 record.

Word of God Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-47 loss against Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool on the 24th. Shreveport HomeSchool Sports has also already played their next game, a 41-36 defeat against Bishop Noland Episcopal Day on the 25th.
