Basketball Recap: Fairview Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hannan last Monday, Fairview came back down to earth. The Fairview Eagles took a blow against the East Carter Raiders on Wednesday, falling 70-25. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Carter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jocelyn Rudd, who went 5-for-8 on her way to 12 points. Kinsley Rutledge was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Fairview's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for East Carter, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Looking ahead, Fairview is taking a road trip to square off against Elliott County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Carter, they will be playing at home against Pike County Central at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
