            Volleyball Recap: Athens Golden Eagles vs. Arab Knights        
        
		
        
        
            Athens was the  2-1 winner over Arab when they last played one another  back in August of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Eagles took  a  2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
 Leading Arab to victory were  Lela Hipp and  Kayden Gronczniak.  Hipp  had four  digs and three  aces, while  Gronczniak  had nine  digs and two assists. That's the most  aces  Hipp has posted  over her last 12  matchups.
Athens' loss dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Arab, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-20 record  this season.
 Athens will take on Jasper at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Arab, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  2-1  defeat against Hartselle on the 30th.
