Baseball Recap: Rancho San Juan Takes a Loss

Rancho San Juan extended their losing streak to seven on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 8-16 in the process. They came up short against the Stevenson Pirates, falling 12-4. The Trailblazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Jayden Contreras made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

As for Stevenson, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

On Stevenson's side, Flint Dickson tossed a big game, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave Dickson a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Reggie Bell was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tono Borgomini, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Stevenson beat Rancho San Juan by a score of 7-4 on Friday.
