Basketball Recap: Community Christian Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Community Christian waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Faith Christian Academy Conquerors by a score of 87-79. The Cyclones have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Conquerors, too.

Community Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evan Gattis, who went 8 of 12 en route to 25 points. That's the most points Gattis has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Chason Bryant, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 18 points.

Several Conquerors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Kelly, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Howard, who posted 22 points, to go along with five assists and five steals.

Community Christian's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. As for Faith Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Community Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 88-51 victory against Jacksonville Christian Academy on the 5th. Faith Christian Academy has also already played their next contest, a 68-18 win against Raleigh Christian Academy on the 6th.
