Softball Preview: Covington Trojans vs. North Vermillion Falcons
The Covington Trojans will square off against the North Vermillion Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Covington managed to slip by South Vermillion the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Trojans lost 9-3 to the Wildcats on Saturday.
Lauren Hardy made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, North Vermillion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Riverton Parke, falling 20-3.
North Vermillion saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tessa Downs, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Covington's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for North Vermillion, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
