Volleyball Recap: Ray Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Ray was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Desert Heights Prep Yote. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Yote when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Julissa Garcia paced Ray's offense, picking up eight kills. Garcia got some help from Mia Barajas and her 22 assists. Juliana Martinez controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Ray's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Desert Heights Prep, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Ray didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against San Carlos on the 11th. As for Desert Heights Prep, after both having extra time off, they and Maryvale Prep will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on the 20th.
