Basketball Game Preview: Flomaton Hurricanes vs. Georgiana Panthers

The Flomaton Hurricanes will square off against the Georgiana Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Flomaton is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Flomaton came up short against Hillcrest and fell 56-47.

Despite the defeat, Flomaton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jacie Himes posted 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailee Herndon, who put up 12 points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Georgiana took on McKenzie on Tuesday. Georgiana was the clear victor by a 45-20 margin over McKenzie. The squad ran away with 33 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.

The victory got Georgiana back to even at 9-9. As for Flomaton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Flomaton beat Georgiana 60-52 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Does Flomaton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Georgiana turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
