Basketball Recap: Summerville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Stall last Friday, Summerville came back down to earth. The Summerville Green Wave fell 53-44 to the James Island Trojans on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Wave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-49 back in January.

It was another big night for Gavin Ward, who went 8 of 16 en route to 24 points and three steals for James Island. Ward has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Parker Renault, who posted five points and nine boards.

Summerville's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for James Island, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7.

Summerville has already played their next match, a 52-49 loss against Ashley Ridge on the 7th. As for James Island, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-31 victory against Fort Dorchester on the 7th.
