The Tug Valley Panthers will head out to face off against the James Monroe Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tug Valley is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Man just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 28-6 to the Hillbillies. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered against the Hillbillies since October 26, 2018.

Meanwhile, James Monroe lost to Greenbrier East on the road by a 29-14 margin on Friday. The matchup marked the Mavericks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

James Monroe suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Tug Valley, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Tug Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against James Monroe when the teams last played back in October of 2020, but they still walked away with a 38-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
