Softball Recap: Osceola Warriors vs. Land O' Lakes Gators
It was a good run, but Osceola unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Land O' Lakes Gators by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, Osceola couldn't push the score so high this time.
Addison Futch made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with a home run.
Even though they lost, Osceola lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post two or more home runs.
On Land O' Lakes' side, Taliah Murria looked comfortable as she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (she also didn't allow any walks).
On the hitting side, Makenna Bellaire was incredible, going 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Jaila Mitchell was another key contributor, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases.
Osceola's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Land O' Lakes, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osceola will take on Sunlake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sunlake is on a four-game streak of home wins, Osceola a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. As for Land O' Lakes, they are on the road again on Tuesday to play Tampa Catholic at 6:00 p.m. Land O' Lakes is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
