Volleyball Game Preview: Meadowbrook Colts vs. River View Black Bears

After both having extra time off, the Meadowbrook Colts and the River View Black Bears will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meadowbrook is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.

Meadowbrook is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on East Liverpool with a sharp 3-0 win.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-19, 25-5.

Meadowbrook's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Journey Nicola, who had 13 digs and two assists. Another player making a difference was Kara Launder, who had eight digs and two assists.

Meanwhile, River View beat Beaver Local 3-1 on Thursday. The Black Bears haven't had any issues with the Beavers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

River View had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 27-25, 25-16, 30-28.

Meadowbrook's win bumped their record up to 23-2. As for River View, their victory bumped their record up to 21-4.

Meadowbrook skirted past River View 3-2 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
