Chicago Public Intra-City 2 recap October 8, 2013

Chicago Military Academy-Bronzeville's Michael Gaines rumbled for the longest rushing play in Chicago Public Intra-City 2 this season in his game against Kelly last week. Gaines scampered for 84 yards on the play and finished with 84 on the day as his team defeated the Trojans.

Kennedy was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from eighth to sixth in the league. The Crusaders vanquished Hirsch 16-14 earlier in the week.

Juarez's dynamic duo of Abel Diaz and Omar Ibarra proved to be unstoppable against Chicago International Charter-Longwood Academy, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Diaz threw for 286 yards and 5 touchdowns and Ibarra had 147 yards receiving. Irvin Navarrette helped Juarez's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 74 yards.

He went 14-17 with 2 interceptions.

Chicago Military Academy-Bronzeville's Anthony Nash and Gaines have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Nash has thrown for 615 yards this season, while Gaines has 14 catches for 291 yards. Dario Almazan from Kelly leads the league in rushing with 589 yards.

The Panthers are in third place, while Lorenzo Johnson's team is in fifth place.

Tilden led Chicago Public Intra-City 2 in scoring this week after putting up 58 points on Gage Park.
