Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pitman). They blew past the Pacheco Panthers 24-8 on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Pride with their most commanding win of the season.
Shelby Woods was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Costa, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Pitman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win (which was Pitman's third in a row) raised their record to 8-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Pacheco, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-19.
