Baseball Recap: Luling Comes Up Short

Luling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They fell 10-6 to the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Luling saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Sandersen, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Luling's record is now 4-15. As for Nixon-Smiley, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Luling will head out to face off against Poth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Nixon-Smiley, they will host Karnes City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Badgers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
