Softball Game Preview: Grayson County Blue Devils vs. Eastern Montgomery Mustangs

The Grayson County Blue Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Grayson County's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Eastern Montgomery's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Grayson County fell victim to Auburn and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Blue Devils' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Eastern Montgomery's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against George Wythe, falling 20-6.

Rena Chandler made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

The defeat was their first on the road, dropping their record down to 9-3. As for Eastern Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Everything went Grayson County's way against Eastern Montgomery in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Grayson County made off with an 11-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
