Basketball Game Preview: Mountain Ridge Sentinels vs. Riverton Silverwolves

Mountain Ridge is 2-7 against Riverton since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mountain Ridge Sentinels will welcome the Riverton Silverwolves at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Mountain Ridge is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-61 heartbreaker at the hands of Corner Canyon. While losing is never fun, the Sentinels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Chargers are ranked eighth).

Mountain Ridge might have lost, but man, Will Lindsay was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Lindsay also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Logan Howell, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Riverton suffered their biggest loss since February 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 95-73 to Copper Hills. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (72), the Silverwolves still had to take the loss.

Mountain Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Riverton, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
