Basketball Game Preview: Albany Warriors vs. Tarkio Indians

The Albany Warriors will head out to square off against the Tarkio Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Albany came up short against Gallatin on Monday, falling 64-39. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 152nd).

Meanwhile, Tarkio had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They blew past the Tigers, posting a 69-21 win. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season.

Tarkio pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points over those games. As for Albany, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Albany came up short against Tarkio when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 55-42. Can Albany avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
