Basketball Game Preview: Capital City Cavaliers vs. Rock Bridge Bruins

Capital City is 0-4 against Rock Bridge since January of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Capital City Cavaliers will head out to face off against the Rock Bridge Bruins at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Capital City didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-45 victory over Linn on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cavaliers.

Meanwhile, Rock Bridge came into Tuesday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Battle 64-36 on Tuesday. The Bruins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 28 points or more this season.

Rock Bridge pushed their record up to 6-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Capital City, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Capital City took a serious blow against Rock Bridge in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 57-23. Can Capital City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
