Basketball Game Preview: Woodmont Wildcats vs. Greenville Red Raiders

The Woodmont Wildcats will face off against the Greenville Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodmont knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully Greenville likes a good challenge.

Back in December of 2024, it was close, but Woodmont sidestepped J.L. Mann for a 66-64 win.

Meanwhile, Greenville entered their tilt with Greenwood on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Eagles 49-32. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Eagles are ranked 50th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greenville's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Woodmont, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

Woodmont couldn't quite finish off Greenville in their previous meeting back in December of 2017 and fell 61-58. Can Woodmont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
