Softball Preview: Deep Run Wildcats vs. Hanover Hawks        
        
		
            
 Deep Run is 0-6 against Hanover since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Thursday. The Deep Run Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hanover Hawks at 6:00  p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Deep Run comes in on five and Hanover on 14.
 Deep Run stacked  a  ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against Freeman as Deep Run made off with  a  14-8 victory.
  Braelyn Baulsir was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. Baulsir has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Baulsir was even better at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 4-for-5.
 In other batting news,  Jessica Kolkhorst was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with a  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Alana Collier, who  scored four  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Hanover faced Godwin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Hanover beat Godwin by the very same score they won with in their prior game:  6-1.
 Like Deep Run, Hanover also got a great game from a two-way player:  Lillian Parrish. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Parrish was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Kaileigh Byars, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.  Meghan Deshazo was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 Deep Run has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record  this season. As for Hanover, they pushed their record up to 14-0 with that  win, which was their 13th straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Both  both teams just can't seem to miss. Deep Run has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 9.9  hits per game. However, it's not like Hanover struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  only 0.9. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
